Owned and operated Lawyers Investigating Service in Maine

Performed civil and criminal investigations for trial lawyers throughout New England

Licensed and worked extensively in New Hampshire, North Carolina and Florida.

Between 1999 and 2005 he was a staff investigator for the Federal Defender Office in their Capital Habeas Unit in Philadelphia assigned to Pennsylvania capital cases.

Thornton has returned to the private sector and currently operates an agency in Portland.
